So, you want to be an affiliate marketer?
You know it’s a pretty attractive option with a lure on its own.
There’s the prospect of being your own boss, working as little as or as much time as you like in the comfort of your home.
(You know the picture of marketers in their pajamas.)
And you don’t want to have your own website to spare you the hassles of making one, of buying a domain name and web hosting and of dealing with HTML codes, or creating your own products. You don’t want to be a webmaster having to deal with customer service, programming, credit processing, charge backs, making people (customers) happy.
Just sell other people’s products and get a hefty 50-75% commission.
You do the math. It’s easy. (I mean, the math…)
You know that this is the road to take – be an affiliate.
And be an adept one, a super affiliate!
A super affiliate is someone who does the affiliate’s work and does so successfully.
But you know there’s a process. There’s a process for everything and even the super affiliates you know of or have heard about didn’t become the super affiliates that they are overnight.
Here’s the simple, easy to follow, 3 step process to start into affiliate marketing and get the desired results within a month. Spare yourself of the research and sorting from the 133,000 Google entries on the keyword “affiliate marketing”.
Step 1 – Setting Up (What to Sell)
Step 2 – Laying the Foundation (Where to Sell)
Step 3 – Making Money (How to Sell)
Go to ClickBank. They have tens of thousands of products and services you can sell. Just Google it and when you’re at the site, set up an account. It’s easy. Just follow the steps of setting up. You’ll have to fill up an application form. You should be able to have your own click bank ID or nickname as a result of this process.
A word of advise here – choose a name relevant to the product line or industry you want to involve yourself in. Your own nick name Tom or pet’s name Wowee may sound cool but a bit strange to appear in the URL of a healthcare product.
Select the product/s you want to sell from the ClickBank Marketplace. Click that Marketplace button on the top menu bar.
And get a ClickBank hop link.
Note: Click Bank is only one of the so many affiliate programs. You can try Paydotcom or Commission Junction (CJ). Check the Google “affiliate programs” and you have plenty to handle.
Laying the Foundation
Identify top market forums. Sign up to a few. You want to set up yourself as an online “persona” by posting relevant conversations, topics and helpful advice in those forums. Set up your signature – a catchy phrase where you can include your link.
Go to Yahoo Answers and register so you can post relevant (to your chosen industry) answers later on.
Write articles (like this one you’re reading now) and press releases. Where to submit articles? Google it. Enter article directory. Presto. You have more than enough you can handle.
You can open AdWords account with Google, too, but PPC (pay per click) can cost money should you decide to market that way.
Prepare your list to email to, if you have, or you can try CPM buys from ezines where you can send a million solo email ads and never worry about spamming.
Now, you can apply what you did in Step 2. You simply laid the foundation for marketing in step 2, that is, finding out where to promote your chosen product/s.
This time, actually promote the products in the different media you have laid foundation in.. Post in those forums, Give you answers to question in Yahoo answers, Submit your articles and press releases. Your affiliate link gets clicked on, and out of many clicks you get conversions or sales. Product owners don’t want to involve in this. They want the free traffic you as affiliate generates for them. And they split the profits with you.
Repeat the process. The more you do, the more you get used to it, And the simple becomes easy. You gain speed and momentum too.
